International Business

“We acknowledge the international differences in legal culture.”

Collaboration with Foreign Law Firms

For our clients, we collaborate almost daily with foreign law firms. Knowledge of the local market, the national legal framework and the local customs and traditions is essential. For this purpose we have excellent friendly relations with other law firms throughout the world. Thus we can be flexible, engage local expertise quickly and provide our clients with one contact point for cross-border legal services.

This also gives us the possibility to refer our own clients to reliable and qualified partners when they need assistance in the fields outside our own sphere of activity. We go one step further for our clients and thus distinguish ourselves from other law firms.

We also work (non-exclusively) with international networks of firms such as ALFA InternationalITechLaw (IT) or BioLegis (Life Sciences). Also, various attorneys are associated with the International Bar Association.

Foreign Desks

Our attorneys have an excellent command of the English language. In order to meet the specific language preferences of our clients, Kennedy Van der Laan has a German, French and an Italian Desk.

Customized Alliance – Legal Customized Solutions for Multinational Corporations

For multinational corporations in Europe we have experience in the establishment of a “tailor-made” network of law firms, Customized Alliance. This provides our clients with the possibility to work in any country with law firms with the best possible expertise for them. As a result, our clients are not restricted to a branch of a single brand law firm. This network enables our teams to manage cases abroad centrally and our clients will always have one contact point for all cases, in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Customized Alliance is intended for multinational corporations that have a need for more control and consistency when collaborating with European external attorneys.

Read more about Customized Alliance and how we have created an Alliance for sports giant Nike: an international flexible network of 21 reputable law firms with local expertise in 16 jurisdictions.
